Hongyun Lyu is a PhD student in history at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on Modern Chinese history, history of science and technology, and Media studies. He is working on the project of electrification and energy transition in the People’s Republic of China, exploring the interactions between power, technology, and the environment. He is also interested in the film industry in the first 40 years of the PRC.
